On chosen Saturdays, we have workshops, which are available for you to sign up for at a reasonable cost.
We also offer UFO Saturdays, (a quilting project you have been working on but is unfinished) for a cost of $10.00.We sew from approximately 9:00 till 8:00 p.m. For our meal we have a potluck dinner and usually order pizza for lunch. Coffee and tea is supplied by the guild.
If you are a new quilter this is a great opportunity to come out and we can help you with your project.
Tonight we are welcoming Norah McGuire- MacLeod as our speaker.
Norah’s first introduction to quilting came from her maternal grandmother, who taught her
how to appliqué a pansy quilt with the button hole stitch! Later her twin sister encouraged her
to take a sampler quilting class with her in Whitby, this started her 17 year’s in quilting, which
continues today.
Since 2003 Norah has been running her own home-based business in Cambridge – Sew Little Time.
Please welcome Norah McGuire-MacLeod

Here is how the Chinese Auction will work this year.
1. When you arrive at the meeting you will check in at the Auction table and you will be assigned a number. You will also purchase your tickets at this time. ($8.00 for 60 tickets!) The tickets will have a number on them. Please try to have the correct change.
2. Helpers will place your items on the tables and assign a bag and number for each item.
3. As the evening progresses, other items will be placed on the tables and you will have a chance to bid on them.
4. Once the Chinese Auction closes, a ticket from each bag will be drawn.
5. Helpers will then take the item to the winning person
Please wait till they announce that the auction is ready to begin, to give the members a chance to place

Hi Ladies: Thank you to all of you who have volunteerd your time for the Quilt Guild booth at the fair.
This Year, The Ancaster Fair started on Thursday night, and other than a little rain on the weekend, the weather was wonderful. But, as my children said, "It wouldn't be the Ancaster Fair without some rain!"
Thank you so much to all the volunteers that worked at the booth: Patty H, Denise W., Lori T, Janet S., Joan W., Mary C., Louise F, Kim C, Lela S, Debra T, Gay S., Linda R., Mary Mc., Gayle B.,Pam G. and her granddaughter, Lily. Special thanks to Mary N. and Betty K for filling in on Friday night. I know they had to change plans to do so.
Extra special thanks to Judy and Nicole who helped me plan the event, and also for working on Friday morning! With all of the school children arriving in the morning, it was quite a busy place!
The children and, yes ,some adults too, enjoyed colouring our butterflies and squares to make our comfort quilts. We have approximately 550 drawings! I had no idea we would get so many. Mary and Janet from the Comfort Quilt Committee and I will be getting ready to organize these squares into quilts. I will be bringing in some of them to the next meeting. Some of these squares are unbelievable with the talent and originality! Wait till you see them
Once again, my heartfelt thanks to you all,
Roseann
