Wanted: Norwood Hoop
I have a blind friend that has recently taken up rug hooking and I understand that often quilters and hookers use this hoop. I am aware that they no longer manufacture the Norwood Hoop, but I am hoping to find someone who does not need their hoop anymore and would like to sell it to someone who will put it to good use.
Please let me know of anyone who would like to sell their hoop.
Thank you for your time

We’ve teased you long enough on the Quilt Canada blog about our ‘fishy’ idea for delegate gifts for next May’s Quilt Canada Halifax!
Karen Miller from Liverpool NS suggested this idea and we thought it was the right touch for our hosting province. Our sea-faring history goes back to the native fishers who have lived here for thousands of years, and continued with the European fishermen who battled the great Atlantic to harvest the stock from our shores. The early settlers survived with what they caught in their handmade nets and baskets, and the fishing industry still thrives in Atlantic Canada. In honor of the food that has fed millions, we are asking our quilter friends from coast to coast to make our Catch of the Day Bag.
Attached is the Pattern with instructions and applique templates. Each bag requires two fat quarters and fabric for the appliquéd fish and casings, and cording or ribbon.
On the Quilt Canada blog, we also talked about a Fat Quarter Exchange. Here’s a new way to build a natural connection among Canadian quilters, share experiences and discover what you have in common. We’re asking you to choose your favorite Fat Quarter, label it with your contact information [address label], place the fabric and label in a small ziploc bag and send it to me. These will be small gifts for the delegates who, in turn, will be asked to make something ‘interesting’ with their new treasure…and then contact the donor and let them know what was made, maybe even share a picture. Who knows, you might just connect with a new best friend!
Please send your Catch of the Day Bags and Fat Quarters to:

Thank you for your willingness to share your fabric and talents with those who will be attending Quilt Canada2012 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. If you are unable to attend in person, your spirit will be there with your lovely gift.
