We have a wide range of quilting books to borrow for one month.
We are going to be doing some experimenting this year. At each meeting we will be selling fabric to raise money for our comfort quilt projects. This money will be used to purchase cutting boards, rotary cutters etc so if you join us at the Parish Hall you will not need to bring all the usual sewing items .We will be announcing the dates and times for this sewing day at the Parish Hall
We would appreciate donations of any notions (thread, pins etc) and crib size- batting. We have an ample supply of fabric and if anyone would like to take some home to experiment on a new technique or quilt pattern please feel free to see Mary or Janet.
We will also have kits ready with Cheater Quilts that just require borders, children’s pillow case kits, crib size or lap size patterns with the appropriate fabric in the kit. Lastly we will also have available for you to do just a block. We would also appreciate any other ideas you may have.
Brenda is collecting placemats all year long. As you complete them, you can bring them to the meeting for her.
As for 2011-2012 term the guild will be offering a MYSTERY QUILT to the membership with some kit options supplied by CHERISHED PIECES as well as THE QUILT RACK. Samples of colours will be available for viewing and kits for ordering at the September meeting with the project starting in October. Let's make this year as active or more so that last. I look forward to a fun surprise quilt with many options.
